EXPLODED ASSEMBLY
The complete car was broken down into its major components to communicate how the design fitted together and to support manufacturing and assembly.
STUDENT COMPETITION · F1 IN SCHOOLS
An early engineering project combining concept development, CAD, teamwork and competition-focused design, progressing from initial sketches through to a complete car and supporting technical documentation.

01
The project began with sketch-based exploration of possible body, wing and packaging concepts. These ideas were developed with competition constraints in mind before being translated into CAD.
02
The selected concept was developed into a complete digital assembly, allowing the car body, wheels, axles and aerodynamic components to be reviewed together before manufacture and competition submission.
03
Technical drawings were produced to communicate the final design, assembly structure and key dimensions. This helped formalise the project beyond visual CAD and introduced me to the importance of engineering documentation.
04
The complete car was broken down into its major components to communicate how the design fitted together and to support manufacturing and assembly.
The project was presented through a competition portfolio that documented the evolution from initial ideas through to the final engineered solution and team reflection.
05
The project introduced me to moving from sketches and ideas into structured CAD and a complete engineering assembly.
Working toward a competition deadline reinforced the need to balance creativity with constraints, teamwork and delivery.
Drawings, exploded views and portfolio documentation helped communicate the final design beyond the CAD model itself.
“F1 in Schools was one of my first experiences of turning an idea into a complete engineering project. It helped shape my interest in motorsport, CAD and developing a design as part of a team.”
